Architecture and Interior Design
A major renovation of a large Victorian house with the addition of a new basement level. The project bears a strong similarity to the original Victorian architecture on first glance, however details have been refined and adjusted to create a sharper, modern property. Inset flush skirtings work with historic doors and architraves in close dialogue.
The redesigned house's contemporary style and expertly finished interior retains enough historical elements to maintain the spirit of the original house. The restrained palette of oak floors, grey marbles, feel modern yet warm and intimate. Bamboo doors elements designed for the joinery feature throughout the house as a clear modern motif.
The generous property spans 4 levels that include five bedrooms a double reception room, kitchen dining room and garden. A newly constructed basement has a cinema, bathroom and utility room, spaces added to suit the lifestyles of a family of adults.
