Conservation and Interior Design

A project for the City of London Grade II listed Barbican Centre Theatre.

The Choir Practice Room is located beneath the distinctive Curve Gallery at the Barbican Centre. The shape results in a curved shape with complex ceiling geometries.

The proposed restoration has involved reinstating the original lighting scheme to highlight the curved wall. Additionally the ceiling is painted a dark colour to minimise the historic acoustic ceiling panels.

The red carpet makes some reference to the main centre carpet whilst also adding some much needed warmth to the space.
